Do I have permission to print from the CD I get?
If your package comes with a CD, then you do have permission to print from the CD.
How long before I can pick up my digital negatives?
You will typically receive the CD between 1 and 2 weeks after the photoshoot. For weddings, you will receive the CD after your final event. For example, we do not give a CD of the engagements until after the wedding is completed. Exceptions apply. Contact us for details.
How much is the cost per additional CD?
$30, though you are free to copy them on your own.
Why would I choose to print through you rather than print my own?
There are several reasons: (1) anything 8x10 or larger that is printed through us comes with free photoshop enhancements. This will include removing blemishes, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, whitening teeth, enhancing eyes, in addition to many artistic effects that can be done in photoshop. (2) Every printer you could print through is "calibrated" differently, meaning that the colors, brightness, contrast, etc may vary from printer to printer. Our monitors, on the other hand, have been calibrated to the printers that we print through so you are guaranteed to get a professional looking print. (3) All prints 11x14 and larger include archival spray and mounting so that your print won't buckle or fade over time. Prints that are sprayed do not need to be framed behind glass.
Your time starts when you ask us to be there.
Do I get to choose the photos that go into my photoalbum?
You are free to choose photos that you want to use in your photo album. What we will do is propose a design to you based on the photos we like. You are then free to request that particular photos be swapped with other photos.
Yes. The charge of travel fees is 50 cents per mile from Norman. If, for example, you have a photoshoot in Tulsa, it would be 50 cents x 124 miles = $62. Anything beyond 150 miles would be the cost of airfare.
Yes. We de require a Gold Package or above, in addition to travel and lodging fees. Ask about specific details.
What do you mean by "online viewing of images" (or "online proofing")?
We will upload your pictures through our website so that anyone can view them from anywhere around the world. All they will need is an event code, which we will email you after your event. (Typically the event code will be in this format: LastnameYear. So, for us, our wedding event code would have been Fife2006). From our online proofing page, you can select photos you want us to print, or even order yourself online. Shipping options are also available so that friends and family from across the country can order prints and have them mailed to them.
What is the benefit of two photographers?
We make a great team. When we shoot with two photographers, one of us will specialize in setting up the posed shots, while the other will specialize in candids. This will ensure that both gamuts of photos are covered. While one is setting up the group shots, the other is catching the little kids playing with Grandpa, or the groom whispering gently in the bride's ear. You won't just have the posed shots of family. Not only are the candid moments captured better with an additional photographer, but you can also get a second perspective on a wedding. While one photographer is capturing the look of admiration in the groom's eyes from one side of the room, the other is capturing the tears in the bride's from the other.
Can I see examples of album designs?
Yes! Album designs can be seen by going to our album link on our main fifephotography page, or by clicking here.
You can reserve your date for a week by coming in for a consultation or merely by asking us to reserve it. This will give you time to decide what you want to do. After a week, a non-refundable depost of $300 will reserve the date. The balance is due a month before the wedding day.
I have changed my wedding day. Will I have to pay a seperate deposit?
No. If that day is available, the $300 deposit you already paid will be applied to the new date.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept checks by mail or in person, cash in person, or credit/debit card.
Are there any financing options available?
Yes! We offer many financing options. Come in for a consultation to see our financing options.
How early should I arrive for my photoshoot?
We start the clock for whenever the photoshoot is scheduled. If you arrive 30 minutes late, then 30 minutes of shooting time has been used. For this reason, we recommend that people be there at least 10 minutes early for engagements and portraits, and that brides show up for their bridals 20 minutes. (This is because bridals involve quite a bit more preparation than engagements or portraits).
Do you do both studio and outdoor shots?
Yes!
We do have a studio. It is located in our home in Norman.
Is there a chance that anyone other than Dustin or Amber will shoot?
Not likely. We do have a number of backup photographers available only in the event of an emergency. Emergencies omitted, you will always have either Amber or Dustin shooting.
