Our Philosophy | Oklahoma Wedding Photography

The most important decisions about your wedding day are:
  1. Who you will marry
  2. Who will be your
    wedding photographer
  3. White or dark chocolate fountain

The first decision is obvious. And so is the third.

The second reason isn't so obvious. But think about it this way: eventually the wedding day will end. The reception center will close, the dj will eventually stop taking requests, and the food will be gone (and sadly, the fountain will run out of chocolate). What remains to remind you of your wedding day are your memories, your spouse, and your images. Our hope is that you won't have to say to yourself, "yeah, the day was magical, but the pictures...." Investing in your wedding pictures is investing in vivid memories.

Our Oklahoma Wedding Photography Style

We do a mixture of both candid wedding photography techniques (also known as photojournalistic wedding photography), and lifestyle photography. There is a lot of hype about candid or photojournalistic photography. What does this mean? This means that the wedding photographer is less of a choreographer and more of a "secret agent," hiding behind the scenes looking for special moments to capture. Candid photographers seek to capture you as you naturally are. See a candid photography example

Lifestyle photographers are the opposite. Rather than simply record your wedding, lifestyle photographers seek to show it off. Rather than photographing it as it happens, they create what happens. Rather than seeking to capture a mood, they seek to create a mood. Lifestyle photographers do this altering the lighting conditions, the environment, the body positioning of the couple, etc. The intent is often to create something truly unique...See a lifestyle example

What we do is do both methods. You will not only have your treasured candid moments captured, but you will also have a stunning creation. This may involve using a telephoto lens (techie term for a lens with a lot of zoom power) from way far back so people don't know they are being photographed, or it may involve setting up a phenomenal shot that would be worthy of a fashion magazine.

But in the end, we don't want you to take our word for it. Please browse our wedding photography portfolio, our engagement photography portfolio, and our bridal photography portfolio.
